Licensed mold remediation that fixes the moisture, not just the stain

Bleach and paint hide mold for a few weeks. Real remediation finds the moisture source, isolates the area so spores do not spread through the house, removes what cannot be cleaned, and leaves the space ready for an independent clearance test. Smart Pro holds a Florida mold remediation license, our lead technician is IICRC certified in Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT), and we follow a written protocol on every job.

Working with your insurance

We photograph and measure everything before work starts and keep daily logs while equipment runs. That documentation goes to your adjuster so your claim reflects the real damage. You choose your contractor, and you can call us before you call your insurance company.

Our process

How we handle mold remediation

  1. Assess and find the source

Visual inspection, moisture readings and, where needed, a third-party mold assessment report to set the scope.

  2. Contain the area

Plastic containment, zippered entries and negative air pressure keep spores out of clean rooms.

  3. Filter the air

HEPA air scrubbers run the whole job to capture airborne spores.

  4. Remove and clean

Affected drywall, insulation and trim come out. Framing and salvageable surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed and cleaned.

  5. Correct moisture and verify

We fix or coordinate the moisture repair, then the area is ready for post-remediation clearance testing.

Questions

Mold Remediation FAQ

Do I need a mold test before remediation?

Florida law separates mold assessment from mold remediation. For larger jobs or insurance claims, an independent assessor writes the protocol and later does clearance testing. For small, visible areas we can often start with a visual inspection. We will tell you which one makes sense.

Can I just spray bleach on it?

Bleach whitens the surface but does not reach mold that has grown into porous materials like drywall paper and wood. It also adds water. The moisture problem stays, so the mold comes back.

Is the mold in my AC vents serious?

Mold on registers usually means condensation, often from a cold supply air hitting humid air, or a dirty or wet air handler. We clean the vents and work with a licensed AC contractor to check the system so it does not keep recurring.

How long does mold remediation take?

A single room or closet is often 1 to 3 days. Larger areas with rebuild can take one to two weeks. Clearance testing adds a few days if an assessor is involved.
